Equity trading support-FIX, PERL, shell scripting 3 positions New York City

Rate $50 - $60 per hour

Skills (include specific skill levels i.e degree, years of experience, industry experience, leadership) This is a management and support position for someone with at least 3 years relevant experience developing and/or supporting a equities trading system preferably program trading, market making and/or algorithmic. Must have good knowledge of FIX protocol, UNIX, distributed architecture, shell scripting, Perl, Sybase. This individual must have proven ownership skills. Support: Initially will spend much of his time with the development teams who currently support the system to learn the system in detail. His/her job will be to off load the detail research and analysis the development team is currently performing. If our Level I support team identify problems they can not resolve it will be escalated to level II. This person will be responsible to seeing this through to resolution. System Monitoring: Take inventory of the production environment and insure all production machines and processes are being monitored by level II. Release Management: Responsibilities include production turnover and checkout. Basically this individual will be responsible for the operational stability of this system in production.
