Position / Title Software engineer
Responsibilities of the Initial Assignment (What will the person be doing?) · Work with Posit development team in architecture and design – from initial requirements to post production review meetings · Provide expertise with Object Oriented Design – UML expertise required · Provide expertise in the following areas: o Java based systems – EJB expertise required o PC/NT based systems o Unix based systems o Software Engineering – Methodology o Relational Database systems o Messaging middleware · Assist with ongoing efforts to continually improve s software development process in order to favorably impact: o Client satisfaction with our products o Time to Market o Development cost
Essential Technical Knowledge / Skills What level of expertise is needed? 1 = Familiar With 3 = Working Knowledge of 5 = Expert Minimum 5 years of work experience as a software engineer since Bachelor’s degree (5) Design/Implementation of large scale systems / Enterprise Architectures - J2EE required (3)Ability to quickly develop expertise in a problem domain– e.g. trading applications (5) Strong object oriented design skills (5) Strong programming skills in Java (4) Experience developing software in Unix or Windows environment (5) Application Servers – JBoss or BEA’sWeblogic (3) Experience in JBoss clustering is a plus (3) Experience in migrating from Weblogic to JBoss is a plus (5) Strong interpersonal skills, works well with a team (3) RDBMS skills (4) Messaging middleware Websphere MQ, JBoss MQ
Other Desired Skills / Experience Knowledge in automating testing Finance/Trading background
