TITLE: Applications Developer/Analyst

REPORTS TO: Vice President, IT Development

B.A. or equivalent degree

Minimum 4 years experience developing in VB/VBA.

Experience in financial industry, preferably in a commodities trading firm

Knowledge of financial instruments

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal areas, trading desks and back office. Works with users to define/identify the scope of the projects and develops the solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Supports existing spreadsheets and applications developed internally

Develops conversion and system implementation plan

Implements solutions per users’ requirements

Prepares and obtains approval of system and application documentation

Train users in conversion and implementation if applications/systems.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:

Good written and communication skills. Highly motivated individual with good problem solving ability. Ability to work independently and also in a team environment. Ability to work in a fast pace environment. Must be proficient in XML, VBA, VB and Access. Knowledge on MS SQL server and/or Oracle SQL preferred. Knowledge on HTTP, SOAP and C#/NET a big plus.

B.A. or equivalent degree
