THE POSITION – VP OF DEVELOPMENT
This person will be responsible for the continued development of both suite of products. In addition, this person is responsible for all IT functions in the company.
Ø This position will be based in NYC and will report to the CEO.
Ø This position is part of a seven person executive team.
Ø This position will have existing development managers and the IT manager reporting to him/her and a total staff of 32 people.
Ø This person will manage a $3.4M expense budget.
Ø
Key Responsibilities:
- Design products – both functionality and technical specs
- Design new functionality for existing products
- Design new products
- Manage developer managers and developers including
- Ensure on-time development
- Ensure quality development
- Provide technical advice and QA
- Provide overall architectural and design advice
- Manage IT Operations
- Manage QA Department
- There is an existing QA department
- Provide internal and external communications in regards to product development directions and progress
Additional Responsibilities:
Success will be more broadly measured on a combination of metrics relating to the following:
- Development of staff e.g. Goals completed, performance reviews completed etc.
- On time product delivery
- Functionality and performance
- Product stability
- Defects per release
- Productivity e.g. Developers/revenue ratio
- Responsiveness e.g. To the market changes, customers
- Employee satisfaction
- Retention and recruiting
- Achievement of overall corporate goals
Key Skills Required:
*Technical Role expertise
Demonstrates critical technical or professional knowledge/skills related to the role; has thorough knowledge and expertise of application development and database experience. Must have database administration knowledge and experience of multiple data base products as listed above. Must have expertise with java and pl/sql. SOA architecture experience is strongly desired.

Systematic in approach to work; Produces action plans in which objectives are defined and steps for achieving them are clearly specified; plans for breaking down large tasks into subtasks; develops plans that anticipate obstacles; is realistic about time-scales and builds in appropriate checkpoints, milestones and controls in order to ensure that desired results are realized.
