Analyst – Hedge / Risk & Accounting $85000 - $95000

experienced analyst with a strong background in the hedging and risk management of multi-currency financial products OR an experienced multi-currency accountant with knowledge of the hedging treatment of financial instruments. CPA qualification and / or working experience of IAS39 / FAS133 directives are useful but not essential.

The successful candidate is likely to be working within a small / medium size investment or international bank in the middle office or at a major software supplier. He / she will work as a member of one of the product development and support teams, developing new functionality and providing support to clients for production calls. He / she will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle (requirements definition, project estimating, functional design, system test, quality assurance, implementation and post implementation support). The position reports to the project manager of the team.

The Role

The position will:

· Liaise with clients to understand and define user requirements and use these to create functional specifications.

· Liaise with technical counterparts to ensure correct technical and functional flow/design.

· Create test cases to ensure the system processes according to functional specifications and execute tests to ensure functional requirements are met.

· Provide functional guidance to programmers to resolve functional issues.

· Provide implementation support and training to clients.

· Support the sales effort by demonstrating the product and addressing questions.

· Provide input to resolve functional problems reported by clients.

Skills required

The following skills are essential:

· 3 years minimum business and / or system experience, likely to have been gained working in, or closely with, the middle office area of a small / medium size investment / international bank

o Comprehensive knowledge of the characteristics, pricing, risk and hedging treatment of derivatives, capital market and more complex treasury instruments.

· Solid, proven analytical skills.

· Strong oral, written and presentation skills

· MS Office to intermediate level

A distinct advantage for this position would be:

· The accounting treatment arising from the creation of hedging structures and relationships.

· Knowledge of the software development life cycle

· SQL experience

· Experience working with / for another software vendor or consultancy
