Architect - Expert Services (Java / Middle Tier) –
Location : Boston, MA

We are currently in need of an Architect for our new technology product effort. This position is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with server and middle tier (java) configuration and integration. System integration and customization may involve the use of XML messaging and/or web services.
• Provide expert technical consultancy to install, trouble shoot and optimize product usage, to current and new clients especially as it relates to the new technology supporting the application
• Provide installation/upgrade support for both prospective and existing clients.
• Provide technical expertise to assist sales with prospective clients and Implementation Managers with new clients as they are being implemented.
• Visit customers as required to resolve advanced technical issues (travel = approx 40%)

Requirements:
· Ten or more years of commercial software development, proficient in developing multi-tier solutions.
1 MUST possess a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
2 Detailed knowledge of the following technologies:
· Java/JSP Development
1 Tomcat
2 N-tier application architecture
3 SOAP/XML and messaging software including MQ Series or Tibco
4 Database systems (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL)
5 Exposure to C#.net
6 Perl programming a plus
7 Familiarity with Citrix a plus.
· Product delivery experience: have been key in architecting, developing and supporting commercial software products which were sold to non-technical customers in vertical markets.

1 A background in portfolio management and trading system applications is preferred.
2 Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills, ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector.

3 Sr. Individual Contributor or Architect level considered the top within their organization.
4 Ability to travel as needed (up to 40-50%)
