Assistant Controller
Reports to: Controller
Purpose: Manage all financial statement preparation and reporting and all general accounting operations. Assist the Controller and CFO in performance of their responsibilities.
Program Responsibilities include:
Prepares monthly financial statements and reports; manages preparation of all G/L account analysis.
Manages all general accounting operations including C/R, C/D, A/R, A/P and payroll. Supervises related staff.
Maintains and manages all general ledger transactions.
Maintains and manages all bank and investment transfers and reconciliations.
Monitors actual versus budget variance reporting by department.
Assists with preparation of annual budget.
Maintains Chart of Accounts and integrity of accounting system.
Supervises and prepares necessary year-end audit schedules and analyses.
Provides necessary financial support, guidance and advice to team leaders, program managers, and other staff members.
Other financial duties as requested by Controller and CFO.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Five-eight years of related experience; some not-for-profit preferred.
CPA
Excellent supervisory skills; ability to multi-task; deal with many different personalities.
Some experience with computer conversions helpful.
