Business Analyst--Fixed Income White Plains, NY MBAJA1

Experienced business analyst with a strong background in capital markets instruments, markets and trade pricing / processes.

The successful candidate is likely to be working, or have previously worked within a small / medium size investment or international bank (sell side), in either the middle or back office. Alternatively, they may be working or have worked at a major software supplier developing and supporting solutions for this business line

He / she will work as a member of one of the product development and support teams, developing new functionality and providing support to clients for production calls. He / she will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle (requirements definition, project estimating, functional design, system test, quality assurance, implementation and post implementation support). The position reports to the project manager of the team.

The Role

The position will:

· Liaise with clients to understand and define user requirements and use these to create functional specifications.

· Liaise with technical counterparts to ensure correct technical and functional flow/design.

· Create test cases to ensure the system processes according to functional specifications and execute tests to ensure functional requirements are met.

· Provide functional guidance to programmers to resolve functional issues.

· Provide implementation support and training to clients.

· Support the sales effort by demonstrating the product and addressing questions.

· Provide input to resolve functional problems reported by clients.

Skills required

The following skills are essential:

· Minimum 3 years relevant business and / or relevant system experience.

o Knowledge and practical experience working with a variety of fixed income and capital markets instruments.

o Hands on experience in two or more of the following processes relating to fixed income / capital markets products:

o Pricing and P/L calculations

o Industry standard trade confirmation / matching processes and systems

o Settlements

o Accounting

· Solid, proven analytical skills.

· Strong oral, written and presentation skills

· MS Office to intermediate level

A distinct advantage for this position would be:

· Specific knowledge and experience of Mortgage Backed Securities

· Knowledge of the software development life cycle

· Experience of SQL

· Internal / external consultancy experience
