GUI oriented job. Looking for sophisticated GUI experience. Any object oriented programming background with GUI experience. Design and implement visual components for application framework.

Development is done in C# (will learn if they have no experience). Ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience. They don't want VB, VB.Net or ASP.Net developers. Java/Swing developers are fine.

This is a technology group within Equity Trading, so they will not have direct contact with Traders.

The Equities Desktop Application Group is currently constructing a new desktop architecture which is based on the Microsoft .Net Framework. The architecture will act as the basis for many of the Equity division’s trading and sales applications, and will be used and extended by Equities development groups to deliver to their businesses. The architecture will provide a GUI framework mechanism, the ability to model and manipulate data, and a deployment with full version control. The Ocean team is looking for an experienced application developer to help ensure that this effort succeeds.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Work in a small team and independently to design and implement visual components for the Ocean Application Framework.
-Produce maintainable, well documented software.
-Diagnose and correct problems encountered in a complex multithreaded software systems.
-Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with other developers to gather business requirements and to work out acceptable solutions.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

REQUIRED:
-Work in a small team and independently to design and implement visual components for the Ocean Application Framework.
-Developer with 2 - 5 years experience with a high level OOP language. C# knowledge is preferred. Candidates with strong C++ or Java skills will be considered.
-Solid understanding of Windows Forms and GUI programming.
-Strong understanding of multithreading environments.
-Experiencing developing sophisticated GUI applications on Windows.
-Experience developing custom controls using Windows Forms.
-Demonstrated experience developing commercial real-time GUI applications.

PLUSES:
-Windows API functionality.
-High performance graphical rendering.
-Programmatic (not WYSIWYG) form layout and rendering.
-Graphic programming for real-time systems such as imaging system displays, video game graphic engines or real-time financial systems with high visual update rates.

FINANCIAL EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED. No job hoppers. Figure they will pay into the 90's + bonus.
