Basically, need good solid Microsoft skills. . $60- $80K + $100-$300/month in potential bonuses. . if you have a good person that is higher in salary I can present them. There is some leeway. Position is in Boston and will be a mix of in-house and going to customer sites.

Sr. Desktop/Server Engineer

Desktop/Server Engineer to be an expert-level, senior technical resource. The System Engineer is responsible for providing senior-level consulting for customers and internal resources, serving as a technical escalation resource, researching and training others on new technologies and product features, and working with Sales and customers to gather business requirements and design / build appropriate desktop, server and messaging platform solutions.

This position features the candidate’s ability with Microsoft technology. Extensive real-world experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and other Microsoft technologies is required. Experience with building and managing Exchange solutions within an enterprise are highly valued.

Essential Technology Knowledge:
Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server
Experience with Exchange design & implementation efforts (including high availability solutions)
Experience with migration from earlier versions of Exchange
Conversant with best practices around Exchange troubleshooting System Administration
Microsoft Active Directory
Experience with AD design and implementation
Experience with Windows Domain design and implementation
Conversant with best practices around Exchange System Administration
Experience with best practices around Active Directory Troubleshooting and System Administration
Microsoft Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 Operating Systems
Microsoft Outlook clients – setup, administration, support, rollout, and upgrade.
Familiar with real-world implementation and support of products that communicate via standard Internet protocols:
TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP / HTTPS (SSL), POP3 / IMAP4
Familiar with Microsoft SQL server installation and basic daily management (not a DBA)
Familiar with basic LAN and WAN protocols and standards

Knowledge of the Following Concepts Essential:
Infrastructure design practices based on the gathering of technical and business requirements
Disaster Recovery Planning
Backup and Restore best practices
Change Management
Technical site audits or “discovery” processes
Basic security concepts
Firewall / router / switch concepts
Server and Storage Virtualization solutions

The candidate must be available to work off-shift at least once per week and participate in an on-call infrastructure support rotation. The candidate will also be expected to travel to customer sites on consulting engagements as necessary.
