POSITION: Staff Financial Accountant - Reinsurance

DEPARTMENT: Financial Services

Position summary:

Handle preparation of the general ledger journal entries, produce and distribute financial statements, analysis of financial results and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. This position will work on a variety of projects, develop analytical/accounting support, and formulate conclusions and present findings.

Position responsibilities:

• Manager financial reporting including monthly close and financial statements
• Maintain the general ledger system
• Provide assistance in completion of annual budget
• Interface with external accountant in resolving issues related to audit
• Responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly regulatory reporting
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation
• Support the Manager in matters relating to financial analysis, audit and taxes

Essentials skills and competencies:

• Working knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, preparing journal entries, and analyzing and reconciling accounts
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Ability to handle multiple and shifting priorities and work effectively both individually and as part of a team

Work and Professional Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
