Senior Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Developers needed for design, development and support of the Global Securities Lending business. The Global Securities Lending system is made of various applications. Major applications are written in Java/C#/C++/C on Unix, MQSeries and WebLogic to support the business of Short Selling, Inventory Management, Borrow Contract Entry/Return, Mark-to-Market, Loan Recall, Billing, and Global Allocation. GSL is a global system used in the US, Europe and the Far East, supporting two major business lines (Equities and Global Clearing Services). The candidate must have at least 5 years of application development and support experience, preferrable in financial industry.

OPPORTUNITY: The Securities Lending group is expanding its business in US, Europe and Asia. The group is furthering this development by building on both the firm's successful securities lending operation in the US, and its established presence in the US and international equity and convertible markets. A strong presence in London will enable the group to provide an enhanced service to their proprietary clients in Europe. Leading the European effort as part of a global securities lending operation is the expanding international sales and client management group. Technology initiatives have been identified by the Securities Lending group to support the European expansion effort. In order to accommodate these additional businesses, we are currently gathering business and technical requirements from our users. We are looking to hire a highly motivated Senior Developers to assist with our user/technical requirements, development and implementation phases.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Strong Java (including Swing, JSP/Servlet), J2EE, WebLogic. Operating Systems: Unix/Linux. Databases: Sybase/Oracle. Others: XML, C#, MQSeries, Tibco EMS. Excellent application design skills. Familiar with object oriented programming and design patterns. Understanding of full software life cycle development process. Experience with Clear Case a plus.

NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS: Positive attitude. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with multiple groups on accomplishing common goals. Ability to work to tight scheules. A good team player.
