LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - Provide consultative investment management services to top-tier clients, their families & charitable entities. Position will serve as on-going primary point of contact for investment management needs of WM clients primarily in Northern Virginia. Some DC and Baltimore coverage. Primary focus will be on client servicing (75%), w/ secondary focus (25%) on new business from existing portfolio (additions, referrals). PM will serve as an investment resource to other members of their designated Wealth team(s); to include Relationship Managers, Trust Advisors, Investment Strategists, Charitable Advisors, & Financial Planners. Position will be responsible for providing investment products/services consistent with WM's approved investment offering and as per policies and procedures. The approved investment solutions set available to the PM will include a blend of both affiliate and non-affiliate products that have been objectively chosen based on performance, style consistency, and risk. PM will work closely with Asset Management's centralized portfolio management team to execute modeled and customized portfolios.Essential Functions: Investment Management and Service: Provide high level of proactive investment management and consultative client service to WM clients in order to meet their individual investment objectives. Duties to include: maintaining client investment profiles and suitability analyses, maintenance of current investment policy statement, appropriate asset allocation, selection of appropriate investment manager(s) & vehicle(s), & the delivery of regular client presentations to review individual portfolios, strategy, & performance.Position will include frequent client contact including in-person meetings & telephone meetings. In addition, PM will be responsible for identifying & referring prospects for cross-selling opportunities to other WM specialties such as trust services, insurance, & credit.Risk Mgmt/Compliance: Maintain established compliance & risk management practices in assigned book of business. Will generally be responsible for managing larger (+$5 million in AUM) & more complex investment relationships. Position will report to the RMD for the region.limited Travel.
REQUIREMENTS:Excellent presentation, inter-personal & communications skills - written & verbal. Team-oriented w/ ability to work well w/ minimal supervision in a rapidly changing, high performance environment. Excellent understanding of investment management & overall securities markets, & ability to effectively convey complex investment concepts and portfolio strategies to clients, prospects, & other team members. Knowledgeable of Fed., State and industry securities laws & regulations.General knowledge of various desktop software & investment related applications.Completion of a four-year degree in a related discipline, e.g., finance, economics, accounting, business management or equivalent thereto. Min. 10 or more years of investment management & client interface required. CFA/CFP/CIMA or equivalent certification or experience
