JOB TITLE: Project Manager of Construction NYC, NY 10010

DEPARTMENT: Real Estate – Store Planning Design and Construction

REPORTS TO: Director of Construction

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT salary $90-95K

Reports to the Director of Construction. Project Manager is responsible for the construction management of new and remodeled stores,

expediting, planning and cost control for store planning projects within the department and the company’s framework.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have specialty store retail (1,000-3,000sq. foot) experience

§ Review construction plans for all new and remodeled stores as submitted by the architects to insure accuracy and detail.

§ Responsible for estimating & managing cost of project before & during construction.

§ Gather general contractor bids and analyze once received.

§ Send projects to architects, etc. to insure accurate and timely completion of project(s).

§ Responsible for organizing construction schedules and supervision of fieldwork.

§ Store/site visits when necessary to monitor construction progress and inspect completed stores for quality of work and proper workmanship.

§ Assists with special projects and share in departmental responsibilities as required.

§ Give direction and communicate with purchasing agent as it pertains to store design and concept. Be sure construction materials are ordered on a timely basis.

§ Communication with developers and tenant coordinators to review plans submittal procedures, markups, unusual design requirements, etc.

§ Regular attendance and punctuality is required during work hours.

§ Perform other duties as required.

§ Interact and communicate with field to review store layout and project status updates.

§ Negotiating and monitor General Contractors and Consultants.

§ Provide closeout packet. Follow-up on warranty work for one (1) year period.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

A Education: BS or BA in Architecture or Construction Management strongly preferred.

B. Experience: 5 years architectural or project management experience in a retail background. Portfolio desired.

C. Knowledge of construction estimating a plus:

§ Excellent drawing and analyzing skills as related to architectural drawing with CAD experience a strong plus.

§ Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management and the ability to satisfy deadlines.

§ Excellent communication skills, oral & written.

§ Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks * Must be available to travel.
