We have a need for a Senior UNIX Administrator to help support 60+ boxes running Solaris 8, 9 and 10 and over 20+ boxes running Red Hat Linux, and to assist with integrating SAN storage into our production environments.

Responsibilities:
Install Solaris 8, 9, 10 Operating systems on Sun hardware using Jumpstart and Flash archives.
Install hardware for SQL cluster in a windows environment.
Install patch clusters on Solaris and Redhat Enterprise Linux.
Upgrade firmware.
Configuration and maintenance of RAID storage subsystems
Work with vendor support to resolve hardware/software issues.
Perform event monitoring and reporting with Syslog, logcheck and logsurfer+

Requirements:
Solid understanding and troubleshooting skills in UNIX (Solaris and Linux)
Should be certified by at least one major UNIX or Linux vendor (SUN, Redhat, AIX, Suse)
Experience creating and applying server images in a Linux environment
Familiarity with Oracle performance implications based on Storage and Server hardware and OS Settings
Understanding of memory, disk, CPU errors
Able to write scripts in any one of the following: ksh, csh, bash, perl
Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and Ethernet
Experience with SAN hardware (EMC, SUN, Dell)
Experience with LDAP in Linux and Solaris environment
Experience with Veritas netbackup in a D2D2T environment, backups, restores and tuning
