THIS IS PRIMARILY A PROGRAMMING JOB, AND THE WORK IS NOT WEB, IT IS
SOFTWARE USER INTERFACE, BUT DESIGN SKILLS ARE HELPFUL.

PERSON SHOULD HAVE UI DEVELOPER SKILLS PROGRAMMING IN PHP, PERL AND AN
OPEN SOURCE DB SUCH AS POSTGRES OR MYSQL.

THIS CAN BE A CONTRACT ROLE (WE CAN PAY TO ABOUT 50/HR)

Role and Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Vice President of
Engineering, located in New York City, the Senior UI Developer/Designer
will play a key role in the design and implementation of a web-based
user interface for an exciting new enterprise security product.
* Work with information architects, graphic designers, and back-end
engineers to design and develop a best-of-breed enterprise security UI.
* Work with quality assurance and test engineers to resolve issues of
with functionality, usability, and stability/performance.
* Work with technical writers to provide user and support documentation
that is accurate, complete, and user-friendly.

Qualifications
* 5 to 10 years of experience as a user interface designer and
developer, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role. Must
have a proven track record of delivering professionally written,
easy-to-use, enterprise-grade user interfaces under tight development
schedules.
* Willingness to hit the ground running in a fast-paced startup
environment with leading edge security technology.
* Experience and involvement in the full product lifecycle -
requirements and specification, design, development, testing,
maintenance and support - for multiple applications.
* Significant experience writing cross-browser web applications.
* Deep knowledge of SQL and RDBMSs
* Knowledge of UNIX operating systems, especially Linux.
* Thorough understanding the following languages and technologies: PHP,
Perl, AJAX, Macromedia/Flash, Javascript, DHTML, bash/sh.
* Deep understanding of best practices in web application security.

Education Requirements

BA or BS in Computer Science or a related field.
