The Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals that provide investment management accounting, financial reporting and administration services for private partnerships, commingled trust funds, real estate investment trusts and separately managed accounts. Primary responsibilities include the delegation of fund assignments, implementation of procedures, development of staff members, interviewing and hiring supervisors and fund accountants. This individual is responsible for oversight of the complete implementation process for new clients, including real estate back office operations and accounting. The incumbent is also responsible for the assignment and supervision of special/ad hoc projects and requests received from portfolio managers, end-clients, marketing representatives, internal management and other interested outside parties; requires participation in cross-sale efforts to enhance client support and maximize revenues while working to improve client relationships. In addition, he/she will verify the funds financial statements for internal consistency, adherence to the funds governing documents, reasonableness and consistency with GAAP and industry standards. Experience in alternative investments, including real estate, is required. As this individual will be accountable for meeting strict client deadlines, s/he must be deliverables-focused and excel at managing a staff to meet deadlines.

Specific Responsiblities:
Manages a team responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of hedge fund entities structured as limited partnerships, commingled trusts, REITs and/or separately managed accounts.
Works in cooperation with the Fund Accounting Supervisor to monitor all daily group functions, workflow, and client deliverables.
Ensures that group functions are being performed in accordance with the client's Service Level Agreements. Manages to strict client timelines and deadlines for deliverables. Develops procedures and processes to meet SLA standards.
Ensures that all reconciliations are conducted in accordance with department policies and procedures. Monitors aging reports. Identifies, researches and resolves any complex out of balance items. Communicates open items to Sr. Fund Accounting Managers and Risk Officers.
Delegates fund assignments, implementation of procedures and special projects.
