Job Title : Applications Developer – Commodities Trading Systems

Location: New York

Job Description:

Develop and support applications for the commodity derivatives trading activity in New York. Duties will include business analysis, application design, development and first-line support of critical trading applications. This role is in the local commodities development team in New York and is part of the global development group for commodities. The New York desk is part of a global group trading oil, natural gas, base metals, precious metals and European power.

Development will include enhancing the desk’s risk management and pricing capabilities, improving the efficiency of post-trade processes and implementing solutions for new trading products. Development is primarily in C# and SQL server. A superb opportunity to get hands-on technology and business knowledge on a derivatives trading desk.

Required Skills:

First class programming skills (One or more of C++ / Visual Basic / C#)

Solid relational database design and development.

Quantitative skills at undergraduate level or equivalent

Working knowledge of financial markets, derivative products etc

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Must be able to thrive in a demanding front-office environment

Highly motivated team player but also capable of working independently

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of energy trading, products etc

Quantitative skills necessary to implement financial derivative pricing models
