.NET / C# Developer…Analyst Programmer/Technical architect

Overview

This position must be replaced to maintain the work level, meet client demands and improve quality in the various modules including Core, Treasury, Derivatives and Capital Markets modules. This programmer analyst will work developing and supporting these modules focusing on technical architecture. They will be involved in all levels of the software development cycle (requirements definition, project estimating, technical design, coding and system test support) as well the analysis of client support calls and bug fixing.

The Role

· The purpose of this role is to help construct the .Net platform for the migration of the (Client Server) application to .Net (C# is the chosen language for this application), participate in architecture and design of the next generation of the existing Visual Basic 6 product.

· Web Services, Real Time Data delivery (Pub/Sub), Service Oriented Architecture are some of the designs that this position will be required to deliver.

· It will be the responsibility of this individual to:

o Build and integrate elements of the framework as required.

o Document the requirements and design of framework.

o Provide skills transfer, best practice training to the development staff.

Experience

· Minimum 3 years practical experience designing and building complex OO enterprise software systems in .Net. Additional experience in other languages is a plus (C++, Java).

· Minimum 4 experience successfully designing and building software for the financial industries.

· Detailed understanding of Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture, and n-tier development is a requirement.

· Understanding of Design Patterns and real-world experience applying these to enterprise systems.

· Delivery of these systems on-time is a critical part of the requirement.

· Detailed understanding of technology and technology trends, as well as the ability to explain these trends to other colleagues.

Skills required

· .Net Enterprise Architecture / Development.

· Past development experience in .Net (development experience in Visual Basic is a plus).

· OO design skills:

§ UML

§ Design Patterns

§ Detailed knowledge of at least one mainstream OO technology

· Ability to identify and explain opportunities for design or performance improvement.

· Articulate; excellent verbal and written communication is a requirement, as this role will also require mentoring other team members on the architecture and technology.

· Business analysis skills are a plus.

· Knowledge of the financial products (Capital Markets, Derivatives, Treasury) is a big plus.
