Job Description:	This is an internationally known hedge fund that wants to hire a beginner for solid UNIX scripting experience (Bourne, Bash, Korn) SQL (they use mySQL) and, preferably C++ experience The successful candidate will have to: Compare our version of the PNL with the home office's version every day, process "breaks" or differences between what we know our positions to be and what our brokers think they may be, prepare ad hoc reports for the group's portfolio manager, load data files into our databases for use by our trading system, write small scripts and programs for one time events. Most of those processes are already automated, but once a difference is identified human contact is required to resolve the difference. Those which are not automated will be automated; that's why the successful candidate must be able to program.
