Title: Senior Java Developer - 2 roles, looking for midlevel to senior candidates, comp range max at 120 base for more senior candidates Operations Technology - java/SQL

Jersey City

Responsibilities:

* Candidate will be developing custom web-based applications for a variety of projects to support the firm's business.

* Will be responsible for designing, building, and testing browser-based applications.

* Will provide support and maintenance of existing and new applications.

* Will interact with project managers, business analysts and project stakeholders for purposes of requirements gathering/validation and solution design.

* Will work in a distributed team environment and be an effective part of the team, following all development processes, procedures, standards and guidelines.

* Must be able to analyze business requirements and design and implement solutions that fit within the firm's systems and architecture.

* Must be highly skilled at finding root causes of errors and providing fixes in a demanding, 24x7 production environment.

* Should be able to take on complete tasks and deliver accurate results with minimal oversight.

Requirements:

* BS Computer Science degree from a 4-year accredited university.

* Must have at least 6 years professional experience and at least 75% of professional work has been Java development.

* Must be extremely proficient with core Java technologies, including but not limited to: multi-threading, sockets, Collections, and Java design patterns.

* Must be proficient in J2EE technologies, especially servlets, JSP, JMS, session management, and J2EE design patterns.

* Must have a very good understanding of object-oriented design and programming and be able to put this knowledge into practice.

* Must be highly skilled in database programming, SQL, relational data modeling, writing stored procedures, tuning queries and debugging SQL issues.

* Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be fluent in English.

* Must be proficient in HTML, DHTML and Cascading Stylesheets (CSS).

* Must have good understanding of XML, XSLT, XML Schemas, XPath and related technologies.

* Desirable to have experience with Tomcat, Weblogic, or Websphere and J2EE configuration and deployment.

* Desirable to have knowledge of Unix/Linux.
