Senior Solaris Administrator - Jersey City

120 or so base plus bonus

> This is more of a Sr Engineer spot with team lead

> responsibilities/potential. The Entire Solaris environment for the

> Americas is 1950 Sun/Solaris Servers. This is seen as more of a

> leadership role and this person is expected to help drive the team of

> 20 System Administrators and improve overall team performance through

> leadership, team building, staff development, and guidance. This

> position is AVP level and will report directly to the UNIX/Solaris

> Manager for the Americas.

> Technical requirements:

> 6-8 years experience in Solaris System Administration - Installation,

> Configuration, and Deployment Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning

> Troubleshooting and support of a critical production environment

> Extensive knowledge and experience supporting and troubleshooting

> Solaris networking services and protocols - TCP/IP, NIS, DNS, NFS,

> DHCP/BOOTP, FTP, SSH, Kerberos, SMTP, Sendmail Must have extensive

> knowledge and experience (6+ years) supporting and troubleshooting the

> Veritas products specifically VCS - Veritas Clustering Server, VxVM -

> Veritas Volume Manager, VxFS - Veritas File System, and VVR - Veritas

> Volume Replicator Must have experience supporting large and complex

> production environments (1500+ nodes) Strong programming skills in

> Perl, Shell, or Python, other programming language (Java, C++) a plus

> Experience in SUN Enterprise range of servers (V440, V880, V1280,

> V490, V890, E2900, E10K) Thorough understanding of storage solutions

> (SAN , NAS , DAS, etc) strong EMC a plus

> Business/Project Skills:

> Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical, and

> interpersonal skills - will be interacting with Senior Management,

> End-Users, Database Administrators, Business Technical Liaisons, and

> other contractors/consultants Develops technical concepts and

> solutions for projects within guidelines outlined in the Firm's Global

> Technical Standards Uses expertise to provide technical direction to

> overall projects Understands, promotes, and contributes to the Firm's

> Global Technical Standards Interacts with user group to gather

> requirements on new and existing projects Financial Industry

> experience preferred

> Education Requirements:

> BS in Computer Science.

> Sun Solaris certification preferred.

> Veritas certification preferred.
