WAN/Security Analyst

DESCRIPTION

Candidate will be involved in the architecture, engineering and operational aspects of the company’s global data network communications environment and associated integrated systems. Candidate will be involved in implementing and managing complex enterprise heterogeneous LAN/WAN/WLAN & Security solutions using diverse technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Works with Infrastructure (Wide Area Network, Local Area Network & Wireless Network) and Security group heads to establish a technology architecture plan and direction to assure integration and support of overall business requirements and strategic objectives.

- Provide day-to-day operational troubleshooting and implementation of the enterprise wide area network , security systems, and corporate and data center local area networks

- Participation in planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, testing and coordination of the company’s IT Infrastructure (WAN, VPN, RAS, WLAN) & security systems

- Act as a technical lead for deploying network/security solution designs and developing implementation approaches enterprise wide

- Promote adherence to security policies and standards, demonstrates awareness of key security trends and considers alternative courses of action and selects best options according to intended security posture

- Develop company’s existing WAN Capacity planning forecast, WAN & Security reporting and Wireless LAN management capabilities.

- Develop client proposals (Service level agreements/Statements of work), including estimates for costs, time, resources and cost/ benefit analysis; determine project and business feasibility

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field or equivalent experience

· Team oriented individual committed to “doing the right thing, every time”; High level of initiative and self motivation; demonstrated work ethic

· Growth & customer service – Be committed to continual personal and profession growth, and be committed to a pro-active approach the process and be willing to “go the extra mile”, every time for the customer; Strong troubleshooting skills

· 3-5 years of related experience in infrastructure environments performing system/network engineering (hardware and software), designing, planning, and implementing wired/wireless data LANs and WANs using the latest technology

· Strong knowledge of TCP/IP Cisco Routed Networks & understanding of Internet routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP)

· Hands-on knowledge of Checkpoint NG Firewall Systems, including advanced functionality (VPN, VRRP, and IP-Clustering).

· Knowledge of enterprise management & troubleshooting tools (Visual Networks Uptime, Fluke and What’s Up Gold)

· Advanced knowledge of Nokia IPSO and appliance architecture

· Solid understanding of telecommunications technologies (Frame-Relay, MPLS and ISDN) is required

· Strong understanding of enterprise security best practices relating to implementing and managing enterprise network security

· Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of data and security networks.

· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and business needs

· Familiarity with formal project management methodologies and related disciplines

· Promote awareness of computing and information security related issues affecting the company by analyzing new and ongoing threats to computing infrastructure, responding to incidents as needed, compiling monthly security reports and supporting businesses in complying with security compliance metrics

· Understanding of intranet/internet applications and related technologies a plus
