Job Description:

Sr. Applications Architect - Base to 130k + bonus + +

Location: Lake Success, NY

My client is seeking a Sr. Applications Architect to act in a lead role in successful implementation of applications on diverse platforms. The Architect will interact with both functional and technical teams, including business stakeholders on topics such as requirements definition, workflow definition, report development, and prototyping of application components. Additionally, he/she will provide design and architectural recommendations based on long-term IT strategy. Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features. Also, provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across multiple businesses. Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes-either individually or in concert with project team.

Requires:
Object Oriented design and Java development familiarity , XML, Web Services
Familiarity with Portal Technologies, Application Server Technologies
Familiarity with industry best practices with regards to Software Development, Change Management, Release Management

Plus:
Familiarity with SOA Technologies, XPDL, BPEL, UML, SOAP, WSDL, JSP, JDBC, SQL, XML, HTML and J2EE best practices, design principles, and techniques.

Overall:
- 5-7 years experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- 3+ years as a Java development in a lead role in an XML environment
- 3+ years Relational database experience
- 3+ years in integrating disparate environment including mainframes, AS400, Unix, etc.
- Familiarities with EDI and EAI concepts
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills- Experience in process definition and process improvement disciplines
- Qualitative and analytical thinker
- Takes initiative and welcomes responsibility and comfortable in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
- Detailed Oriented
- Accepts constructive feedback and works to build on lessons learned
- Must be organized and have the ability to guide self in development and test activities- Proven time management skills
- Experience as a business analyst, product manager, or requirements analyst also desired
