Job Description:	Job Description Title: IT Services Engineer Job Code: Reports To: IT Services Manager Grade: Supervisory Responsibility: N/A Status: Exempt Description: As a member of the IT Services team, this position will be responsible for installing, deploying and upgrading notebook/desktop computers and servers to support the existing infrastructure. You will design and implement the upgrades, develop the infrastructure, manage and automate recurring tasks and help ensure that technology is always an aid, not an obstacle. This position will serve as an escalation point for our help desk technicians and will share in the 24/7 on-call responsibilities. Domestic travel may be required. Responsibilities: Troubleshooting PC issues (failure to boot/OS installs/configuration and deployment) Assist in the evaluation and selection of new products and services Desktop support (Outlook and the Office Suite, PC repair) Telephone support (with and without remote control applications) Resolving open helpdesk tickets User and email account management Thorough understanding of networking 2nd level support to employee inquiries Assist in the deployment of hardware systems to meet company needs Requirements: Competencies: - Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 Suite, Outlook 2003 - Experience with Windows 2000 and XP, and Windows Server 2003 - Basic networking skills (DHCP, DNS) - Intermediate understanding of a Microsoft Exchange environment - Working knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony - Strong systematic troubleshooting skills - Ability to handle multiple requests and projects simultaneously Interpersonal Skills: - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and employees - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Ability to work harmoniously and effectively as part of a work team Education/Experience: - Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience required - 1-2 year's relevant experience required - 1-3 years of IS or Technical training required - Microsoft Engineering Certifications strongly preferred
