Title: Unix Administrator – Business Support

Location: New York, NY

Requirements and Responsibilities:

Investment Banking Firm is looking for a Linux/Solaris SA for the Business Support group in support of Equities. Primary contact is with the developers for the business unit and the CTO organization responsible for computing infrastructure. In addition to performing daily system administration tasks, candidate will work closely with the business unit to help gather requirements, design systems, and implement new server environments. The candidate must:

· Be experienced in maintaining a production environment in the financial industry

· Have strong Linux and Solaris skills (SUSE a plus)

· Demonstrate an ability to solve problems creatively and quickly

· Possess good communication and documentation skills as well as a demonstrated willingness to use them

· Have Banking/Brokerage experience, preferably in Equities

· Demonstrate competence in clustering and SAN technologies on Linux

· Demonstrate competence in VERITAS Volume Manager/File system/Cluster

· Be literate in networking and security

· Work well on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
