SUMMARY: The Equities Desktop Application Group is currently constructing a new desktop architecture called Ocean, which is based on the Microsoft .Net Framework. The architecture will act as the basis for many of the Equity division’s trading and sales applications, and will be used and extended by Equities development groups to deliver to their businesses. The architecture will provide a GUI framework, the ability to model and manipulate data, and a deployment mechanism with full version control. The Ocean team is looking for an experienced application integrator in order to test and implement new releases and fixes to the production environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure processes are deployed successfully to production environment. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Required -Minimum five years experience as an application systems integrator. -Monitoring of system activity and tune system parameters and configurations to optimize performance. -Develop utility programs and scripts to monitor the live production site as necessary. Strong knowledge of Perl is required. -Strong Windows, LINUX, and UNIX skills are required. -Knowledge of relational databases, DB2 is a plus. -Some knowledge of Network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches. -Maintain production “test” machines with restorable images in order to duplicate issues that are occurring within the production site. -Design/document/implement OS-specific code supporting the installation process for the application. -Bug Tracking, communicating and escalating production issues in a timely and effective manner. -Setup and maintenance of servers within the production environment ( in conjunction with other team members ). -Build a productive relationship within your team, across other IT and ET functions, including business development and client services. -Responsible for planning system and deployment updates. -Coordinate in a systematic manner to reduce downtime and provide maximum reliability while maintaining the systems to the current required software/firmware updates. |
