Job Description:	Operations Technology - 110 base plus bonus - 1 left - need some informatica experience > Sr Database Developer Jersey City > > General Jersey City, NJ based technologist to join the Futures, Options and Fx team. The individual will be responsible for further developing and supporting global Futures, options and Fx back office systems. The successful candidate will have a proven, good track record in development and be prepared to spend some time supporting the production system. They will be required to demonstrate a mature, constructive approach to trouble shooting. > > The Futures, Options and Fx team have a true, global system made up of two main components: The first is the main processing and calculation system which is provided by a vendor and the second is a homegrown mainframe system that takes feeds from the vendor system processes these and creates feed files for numerous downstream systems. > > Over the next twelve months the team is looking to decommission the existing mainframe process and replace it with a distributed process built around a local UDB database and ETLs using the Informatica tool. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in migrating over to this new infrastructure. > > > Job Requirements > * Participating in analysis, design and development of new functionality for the global application > * Working with team lead/project manager to set the technical direction/architecture > * Communication with users to gather understanding of any issues that may arise > * Supporting the live application in the production environment > * Participating in test execution cycles > Personality: > * Team player > * Proactive > * Well developed interpersonal skills > * Good analytical skills and able to use these in multiple use and IT environments > * Good communication skills, in order to coordinate with users and fellow developers based in different geographic regions > * Numerate > * Ability to remain calm and organized in pressurized situations and to implement changes quickly> > > > Basic Technical Requirements: > * Well versed in SQL and be able to pick up the purpose of queries written in various SQL dialects > -> minimum of 4 years experience is necessary > * Must have written applications that interface with either Sybase or UDB > > Desirable Skills: > · Good knowledge of Sybase/UDB database development > · Database design > 1 Good indexing strategy > 2 Stored procedures > · Knowledge of Informatica > 1 Knowledge of mainframe processing and languages > 2 Exposure to the Investment banking industry/ Knowledge of accounting. > > > >
