Job Description:	Firewall and Security Senior Engineer - 115 or so base plus bonus for right talent Jersey City - needs strong Network (Cisco), firewall skills (Checkpoint/Nokia) and network security background (NIPS, 802.1d (NAC) Job Responsibilities: The External Access Engineer will be responsible for design architecture, implementation, management, configuration and operational support surrounding all external connectivity with internal and external partners. The role will include the following responsibilities: Responsibilities include: * Engineering 3rd level engineering escalation & troubleshooting support of existing network and firewall services and connectivity infrastructure; * Network analysis and implementation of Security Engineering requirements into operational practice and processes; * Extensive knowledge around architecting financial trading networks with providers such as BT Radianz, Savvis, and MFN; * Extensive experience architecting networks to support demanding Market Data requirements for equities, options, etc. * Knowledge and experience designing and supporting large Cisco networks, preferable in the financial services industry * Close collaboration with the development & application communities to ensure a seamless delivery of business objectives and new client network connections. Required Skills: * 4+ years experience in network engineering with a focus on external connectivity, market data services and managed service providers. * Broad experience of network security architectures and technologies and across core, metro, VoIP and WAN networks in an environment involving multiple protocols. * Successful track record of delivering complex technical network solutions in line with time, cost and quality requirements; * Ability to lead and drive troubleshooting efforts; * Must possess very solid documentation skills. * Ability to work in a team environment and with other experienced technology professionals. Desired Skills: * Background in Internet connectivity, routing (BGP), load balancing and remote access. * Network security focus with a familiarity in Cisco infrastructure & products, specifically Cisco IOS; * Knowledge of ISS Proventia, NIPS, NAC and applicable Network Security technology; * Unix Administration * Strong background in Checkpoint Provider-1 NGX and Solaris, Nokia and Linux based firewalls. Minimum Educational Requirements: College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or Business Management >
