The Global Securities Services group within Equities, of which Prime Brokerage Technology is a part, offers significant opportunities for long term career growth and the chance to develop technical, business and leadership skills with exposure to a broad range of products and business flows.
The Prime Brokerage technology team is responsible for the development of applications which service the needs of our hedge fund clients from front to back. The suite of applications acts as the public interface to the client and supports functions such as portfolio management, real time trade processing, risk management and reporting all in a high volume, highly scalable, distributed environment.
This role in the Margin Risk team offers the chance to work in global teams in close partnership with Risk Managers in the Prime Brokerage business. With a number of key strategic projects underway including integration of derivatives and stress-test based portfolio margin this is an exciting time to be joining the team.
The role in the Margin Risk team will allow the individual to:
- Gain a detailed understanding of Prime Brokerage flows across equity, fixed income and derivatives.
- Gain an understanding of Risk strategy and stress test based methodologies.
- Grow leadership and project management skills - with the potential to manage small teams and projects.
- Gain exposure to Java, C++, Perl, Data warehousing.
-Gain an understanding of high performance database applications based around Sybase and UDB.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
-The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem solving skills which can be applied in a Java or C++ based environment.
-Experience of financial markets, Prime Brokerage and risk metrics in particular.
-Project teams are small and responsibility is given early so strong initiative, organization and team work are essential.
-Projects frequently span New York, London and Tokyo and there is significant exposure to our business users in all locations so good communications skills are required.
