Our Technology department employs 160 professionals and delivers all technology solutions used within the firm. Technology seeks individuals that are highly proficient in their respective technology platform, articulate, solution driven, client focused and proactive in building their technology skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Risk Technology supports Risk Management unit, and is responsible for:

  • Development of quantitative analysis of risk to support both day-to-day and long term management of Risk and Performance.
  • Development of analytical tools to promote rapid, ad-hoc understanding of risk.
  • Development and support of risk operational infrastructure.

The person in this role must be a developer with a strong understanding of both technology and finance, preferably with market-risk experience. Should have in-depth knowledge of software lifecycle, design and development experience of writing multi-tier/distributed applications. In addition to strong technical skills, the candidate must have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and possess strong ability to work independently or as a team member.

A strong desire to learn and gain exposure to the business side of a top-tier risk management organization is critical to success in this position.

Job Requirements:

· Senior Developer:

- Ongoing design and development and maintenance of existing and new risk applications and systems.

- Must have ability to take a project from specifications to deployment.

- Understand the detail architecture and implementation of the company's applications and systems and build and expand on top of this base.

- Ability to communicate via producing documentation at all levels, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating Trading systems knowledge with technology skills.

- Strong knowledge of and experience in supervising and executing all phases of the technology life cycle, based on proven project management and testing methodologies.

· Technical skills:

- Strong Microsoft C# development experience, C++ experience a plus.

- Strong SQL/database design and development experience.

- Hands on design and development experience. Should be able to specify coding standards and lead architecture/design reviews.

- Knowledge of technical architecture design and a good understanding of technology tools and components to reasonably argue for and against all components (middleware, database, reporting tools, etc.) in that architecture.

· Business Knowledge:

- Familiar with Market Risk: VaR, Sensitivities, and Stress Testing.

- Familiar with a broad range of asset classes: Options, Derivatives, Fixed Income

- Able to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Education:

B.S./B.A. degrees in Computer Science, or a Masters degree in Computer Science. MBA or MSc (Finance) a plus.
