Charles River Development Project Managers/Implementation Manager

There are multiple openings in New York, Boston and San Francisco area.

The key to the job is to have experience with Front Office and Buy/Sell Side with Trade Order Management Systems (OMS).

Responsibilities:

You will be fully responsible for all aspects of implementation for Firms Investment management system... You will need to become a product expert in a short amount of time and remain up-to-date as product and industry changes require. You will also need to manage the competing demands of the clients to whom you will be assigned, and operate administratively as well as hands-on.

And lastly, you should be comfortable dealing with many different types of individuals and situations throughout the implementation process, such as:

  • Working through product integration issues with the client project team and our programmers, including trading room workflow and how the products fit into particular scenarios
  • Giving monthly project status and financial reports to senior management and relationship management at all levels with the client
  • Providing client training on both the Trading and Compliance products and contributing to the development and maintenance of client training manuals

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of Financial/Software Services industry background (Project Management experience with financial market information systems preferred)
  • Bachelors Degree from a leading university or college in Business Management, Economics, Finance, or the like
  • Demonstrated ability to implement client/server technology, using a hands-on approach
  • Understanding of technical architectures, including RDBMS, UNIX, Windows95/NT/2000, and PCs
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to effectively engage in product testing, especially as it relates to custom client enhancements
  • Demonstrated ability to meet self-imposed deadlines and proactive account management skills, and a track record of balancing the demands of multiple client accounts
  • Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel required

Job Description:
It's a Level 2 support job, specializing in server support. It is located in NYC ) and is a day shift position.

The base salary range for this position is $65-75K. The incumbent would be bonus eligible and would also receive our comprehensive and competitive benefits package.

Principal Responsibilities:

· Assist in the support of the servers and communication networks at all facilities for hardware or software errors.

· Design diagnostic tests to monitor the health and performance of computer systems and communications equipment and facilities.

· Monitor participant help desk calls and assist Level I technicians in the resolution of problems. Troubleshoot and attempt to resolve issues; escalate problems to internal technical groups when necessary.

· Option, test, and install communications equipment such as Cisco networking devices at

· Create documentation that will help troubleshoot internal networks and systems efficiently.

· Provide training for Computer and Network Operations colleagues on the various networks and systems we support.

· Provide enhanced network support for WAN and Mitel IP Telephony networks.

· Proactively contact participants when our surveillance systems, such as MOM consoles and HP Openview, identify connectivity issues in communicating .

· Assist participants with testing communications applications.

· Interface with vendors of communications services and equipment in repair and installation matters.

· Provision wide-area frame-relay service as well as other communication lines and customer communication links.

· Follow up on and investigate open issues from log entries and help desk tickets to ensure that problems are resolved and resolutions are documented.

· Maintain & monitor the security, cleanliness and environmental controls of the Operations Center.

· Assist in enhancing server surveillance such as MOM consoles and Argent by prioritizing event log messages and applying filters to server surveillance applications.

· Develop procedures and training materials for Network Operations to assist in their support of the server environment.

· Assist in the development of a viable change management system to track system software and application changes as they apply to the server environment.

Requirements:

· 3+ years' experience in Telecommunications, Mainframe, Server or Networking field.

· Bachelor degree in an IT related field or formal technology education/training from a technical school.

· MCSE a plus.

· 2+ years' experience provisioning wide-area frame-relay service.

· Proven strong communication skills, written and verbal, to be able to interact effectively with outside customers, vendors, and internal colleagues.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Good analytical and problem solving skills.

Business Analyst _ 85-95K

The ideal candidate will become part of a Project Management Group within the IT organization.

The PM group partners with business units and staff groups across the company to transform business defined IT strategies and opportunities into solutions using a structured project management process.

Business Analysts are integral to the Project Management Team on as many as 3-6 projects at a time depending on the size and complexity, and may be required to assume project management responsibilities for smaller Projects.

Business Analysts work with the Business Owner, Project Sponsor, Director of Project Management/ Project Manager, Application Development, and Design and Testing teams throughout a project's lifecycle.

The candidate will report directly to the Director of Project Management

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between business team and the project team by assisting the business in identifying, understanding, and documenting their business needs with due consideration to business rules and business logic.
  • Communicating with the business on a non-technical level, and with the development team on a more technical level.
  • Define and manage project scope and write the Project Charter under the guidance of Project Manager
  • Own the requirement gathering, documentation, review and sign-off process for business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test case scenarios.
  • Interview business owner and documents business requirements and develop Business Requirement document (BRD), functional specification document (FSD), System Architecture Design (SAD) and Project Plan.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Iterative Software Development.
  • Proven skills in Process Flow Analysis and Diagrams, Business Modeling and Use Case Development.
  • Conducting gap analysis between the current and future system. Experience in conducting SWOT analysis, Cost benefit analysis and ROI analysis.
  • Design business process for applications and also reverse mapping of business process from the application.
  • Design User Interface (UI) and wire frames, sitemaps, good background in development and design of web applications
  • Should be well versed in drafting communications and status updates on projects & assist the business with post go-live enhancements and improvements.
  • Work with and manage outside vendor relationships. Knowledge of the RFP process, vendor evaluation and selection.
  • Interact continually with the IT operations group to ensure specifications are in line with most efficient available technical solutions.
  • Support development and QA teams during development and test phases; answer questions and provides detail on specifications on an as-needed basis.
  • Work with the QA Team and facilitate Whitebox testing, Integration testing, Functional Testing, Regression Testing and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to make sure that all the user requirements are catered to by the application.
  • Be actively involved in the Training of the end users and facilitate transition.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years experience in Business Analysis and project management methodology.
  • Excellent Decision making and analytical abilities as this job function is frequently confronted with new and unique problems, and requires in depth understanding of the interaction between business and technology. It also requires a proactive approach toward managing expectations and deliverables.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in using MS Visio and MS Project. Strong knowledge of project planning tools, Documentation process, tools and templates required.
